My son is using offensive words incessantly?
Hi everyone, sorry to bother you with this question. I’m having some problems with my 7 y\o son. As we all know, it’s difficult to be a parent in this world today and my son is being exposed to a lot of things in school and with his friends.
On to my question – My son just learned the word "rape". Obviously he knows – vaguely, of course – what it means. My son, as we were coming home from a local restaurant, began yelling down the street that I raped him. I live in New York City, so it’s kind of embarrassing when your child yells these things in the crowded streets.
I’m worried of telling him that it’s wrong, but I love my child and I don’t want to be forced to beat him senseless. What can I do?
My son went through a phase, where he thought it was funny, to overreact in public to something I’d say. Like if I said his name to get his attention, he’d visibly jump and look at me with these huge, scared eyes, and this look of absolute fear. He thought it was funny. Strangers were giving me dirty looks, as he’s quite the little actor. To look at him, you’d have thought he was seriously afraid I was going to hurt him. Didn’t help matters that when he does this, it drives me nuts, so I probably do look like I want to strangle him.
Finally, one day, after he pulled that nonsense at a doctors office, I asked him if he wasn’t happy living with me. He seemed surprised, and told me he loved me, and never wanted to leave. I explained to him, about what he was doing, how it wasn’t funny, and how he and I might know that I don’t abuse him, but strangers don’t know that. And doctors especially are required by law to report suspected abuse. I then explained what would happen if CPS were to take him from me, could end up in fostor care, or at his dad’s. Did he really want to risk that, for his own private laugh? Since that day, I now get appropriate responses from him. He apparently hadn’t thought it through.
Sit your son down, and explain, that isn’t funny, and why, as well as what the consequences of his actions could be, if he continues this sort of thing.
USAF BOOT CAMP Mailing Format; Military Spouses/dependents/supporters only.?
My wife just made her first phonecall from bootcamp, first sunday of her 0-WEEK. She called in around 0500 Pacific. I heard my phone ring and immediately sensed that it might be her. Good thing though it went in my voicemail box; Because it was a long, fast & ’static’ful msg. After trying to decrypt the msg (due to static) and googling around. I believe this is the right format & address..
x = Number
Y= CAPS Alphabet Letter
disregard ‘ < ‘ & ‘ > ‘ symbols
AB <Last Name>,<First&/2nd Name>,<Middle Initial>
3<xx> TRS\FLT <xxx>(DORM <Yx>) PSC <x>

!NOTICE #1
Even though yours differs please adjust it in your comfort. And despite of small mistakes, eventually & hopefully they’ll recieve it (with regards to other people’s posts&answers)
!NOTICE #2
As quoted in their last line "PLEASE DON’T SEND ANY GUM &/OR CANDIES IN ANY FORM AS THIS WOULD MAKE THEIR LIVES HARDER THAN IT ALREADY IS"
PLS POST If there’s any ammendment/s
CORRECTION ON THE ZIP its 78236-4570
Yes… that is correct… Don’t worry, it will get to her either way. I remember receiving letters that were all sorts of messed up on the address and it still got to me… the post office over there can work wonders…
And don’t send candy, gum or anything like that…. they have to open any type of packages (including mail with pictures) in front of the TI….and the TI has to inspect all of it.
Nadine Gordimer at the 92nd Street Y: April 1961
http://www.92y.org/shop/category.asp?catalog=92y%5Fcatalog&category=Tisch+Center+for+the+Arts&category=Unterberg+Poetry+Center&redirect=literary Nadine Gordimer, South African novelist and short story writer, began writing at an early age. The daughter of Jewish immigrants, she published her first short story, “Come Again Tomorrow,” when she was 15. At 21, Gordimer briefly attended Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg where she was exposed to the social and political atmosphere of South Africa, which would become the focus of her works. Gordimer’s short stories have been published in various magazines such as the The New Yorker, Harper’s, and The Yale Review. She received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1991 and continues to live in and write about South Africa.
Nadine Gordimer appeared at the 92nd Street Y early in her career on April 24, 1961 to read selected short stories. In the video clip here, listen to “A Style of Her Own.”

Need help with vector decomposition.?
A Toyata Sienna with a gross weight of 5300 pounds is parked on a street with a slope of 8 degrees. Find the force required to keep the Sienna from rolling down the hill. What is the force perpendicular to the hill?
Please give a detailed explanation; here is a diagram http://www.geocities.com/markisusmarkmark/vectordecomp.bmp
Also, r*tan(theta)=2; this is r(sin(theta)\cos(theta)) = 2; this is r*sin(theta) = 2cos(theta); isn’t this y = 2cos(theta) in rectangular form? When I put the polar equation into my calculator though, it does not show a cosin curve. What is wrong with my math?
#2
You are getting the coordinates confused. I am using t for theta, the angle. y = 2cos t has nothing to do with r*tan t = 2
You want to solve for r in terms of t.
r = 2 cot t. This is what you want to plot, with your calculator if you must but I think you would benefit from using pencil and paper. I took me a few minutes.

the angle between 5300 lbs normal to the earth and the normal to the road is 8 deg. The amount of 5300 that is parallel to the road and down the hill is 5300 sin 8. The force normal to the road is 5300 cos 8.
I suggest that you draw the picture

Relative Rates?
Hi I have a few problems I’m working on that I would like some \
1.A large spherical snowball is melting at the rate of 2pift^3/h. At the moment when it is 30 inches in diameter, determine:
a)how fast the radius is changing
b)how fast the diameter is changing
c) how fast the surface area is changing
I think I solved for surface area I’m not really sure if I’m doing these right so please correct me…I know dS/dt=-2pift^3/h
and x=30 inches radius is r diameter is x=2r r=(1/2)x
dS/dt=dS/dx * dx/dt => dx/dt=-2pi/(2pix)
x=30 so dx/dt=-2pi/(2pix)=-2pi/60pi=-pi/30pi so rate of decrease is pi/30pi
A girl is 5ft tall is running at the rate of 12ft/s and passes under a street light 20ft above the ground.
a)Find how rapidly the tip of her shadow is when she is 20 feet past the street light and
b) find how rapidly the length of the girl’s shadow is increasing at moment (a)
For a) dx/dt=12ft/s
d/dt(x+y)=?
20/5=(x+y)/y
20y=5x+5y
y=1/3x
d/dt(x+y)=d/dt(x+1/3x)
I’m stuck
You should not be "stuck" on the 2nd…you have everything you need….find d[x+y]/dt and dy/dt…you found x+y = [4/3] x and dx/dt = 12…..16? and dy/dt = [1/3] dx/dt……4?
In the 1st you have the incorrect formula for surface area….V = [4/3] pi r^3, SA = 4 pi r^2…given dV/dt = -2 pi and d= 2r…your concepts are in working the problem are excellent…Now rework your question and have a good day
